Weekend.. Finally!

SO.. FINALLY.. a post about our last weekend!

It was definitely a big one for our sweet E! He had his very first soccer practice!!! :) I am SO excited that Ethan is finally old enough to play sports! HE LOVES SPORTS!!! You should see the amount of balls we have in our house.. everything from tennis balls to footballs! And not to mention the knowledge he has of sports! He is definitely a "jock"! ha!

He was ridiculously excited about getting to play soccer!! He had been talking about it for weeks! LK spent the night with my mom Friday night, so that left E with our full attention at practice.

can you tell how excited he is???!

He did SOOO good!!! He is a great kicker!

Practice was GREAT!!!

After practice we took him to Swanky's for a taco. He LOVES Swanky's!

He was EXHAUSTED after soccer and a taco!

Saturday morning, I actually had the entire morning to myself. Ethan, Huck and Chris went to the Dog Park at Shelby Farms and I went to get my hair cut and to get a mani/pedi! It was AMAZING!!! I actually kind of feel like a woman again.. not like a "MOM"! ha! After my apts, I met the boys for lunch. Then, I was off to a ballet meeting for LK! She's in The Nutcracker this year! We are SOOO excited! :)

After the meeting, we headed to Bartlett to pick LK up from my mom. They had a pretty exciting morning too... Mom treated her to lunch and to an apt at Sweet and Sassy. She came home with her hair done, a new bow and cotton candy hair spray! (a 6 year old's dream! haha!)

Sunday, I cleaned house and we finished up a very fun and exciting home project!!! I will post pics soon, I promise! :)

I hope everyone is having a great week!!! and YAY for fall shows starting this week!!!!

Fireman to the Rescue!!

Last week was Fire Safety week at school, so we had a visit from the firemen!!! Ethan was SO excited!!! The firemen came in their truck and talked to everyone all about fires... how there are good fires and bad fires, what to do if there is a bad fire and to NEVER be scared of the firemen in their uniforms! They gave all the kiddos a tour of the firetruck and even let them climb inside! At the end of their talk with the kids, they had a special surprise... they turned the hose on and sprayed water all over the back lawn of the church! They kids LOVED it!!!

my little man! i couldn't help but make him this little shirt!

my sweet class at 2nd! (cora, causey, margaret, teddy, mark, sarah grace, charlie, lela, alexa, anna, kirsten and cristian)

What made the day even more special is that the fireman who was talking to us is the dad of one of my students!!! Kirsten was so surprised to find out that her daddy was there!

Fireman Chris (aka - Kirsten's Daddy) showing us that a fireman is not scary with his mask on!

He was SOOO excited!!!

taking a peek at all the fun stuff on the firetruck!

Ethan and his friend Thomas... of course, Thomas had to have a matching shirt! :)

my 12 sweet ones!

We had SUCH a fun time learning all about fire safety! After the visit from the firetruck we even learned how to "STOP, DROP, and ROLL!" (and boy was THAT fun!!! haha!)

Top 2 Tuesday : Hair Products!

This week Taylor is discussing our Top 2 Hair Products!
I am always switching up hair products... if I use anything at all! Let's face it... my hair is in a pony tail 99% of the time during the week! ha! BUT.. when I do get the opportunity and time to fix my hair.. these are my current faves..

{1} Bumble and Bumble Styling Creme and Lotion

The creme you can put on after you towel dry hair.. It gives a little extra volume and makes it easier to style. (gives your hair a little hold without weighing down)

The lotion you can spritz on after you blow dry and style section by section with your method of choice. I LOVE it!

{2} Catwalk Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner

I've actually used this for quite a while and just love it. It's my go-to hair product! It smells pretty good too! :)

What are your faves???! Head over to Taylor's blog and see everyone else's!

Weekend Wrap-Up ... TWO weekends ago, that is!

Goodness... posting has just gotten away from me lately!! I can not believe that I am two weekends behind in posting! Not to mention so fun posts from activities at Ethan's school!! I promise that I'll get caught up on everything ASAP! :)

TWO weekends ago.. (11th & 12th)

Ok, these pictures dont really have anything to do with the weekend, other than that's when I took them, but they were too cute not to post. Ethan and Huck have such a fun and special relationship. In fact, Ethan calls Huck either his "Buddy" or his "Brother"! It really is adorable. Huck is really starting to listen to Ethan too... you know, all the basic commands, "sit", "stay", "down", "HUCK.. NO!!!! THAT'S MY LOVIE!!!!".. you know.. the basics! ha!

I snapped this one and thought it was precious! I was in the kitchen and could hear them playing.. this is what i walked into. Ethan.. pantless.. and Huck obeying his every command! LOVE it!

This was later that night.. playing in the kitchen.

I love that E can tumble all over Huck and Huck doesn't mind one bit! He is definitely the world's BEST dog!!! I think these two are going to have so much fun growing up with each other! :)

Ok... on to the weekend...

Saturday morning we woke up bright and early and headed to one of my favorite fall festivals of the year.. the Germantown Festival. As we we walking up to all the crafts tents, it started raining. Luckily, it was just a light rain for a few minutes and then stopped, so we got to still enjoy it!

What a ham!

I stocked up on tons of adorable fall/holiday decorations for the house and LK loaded up on hairbows!! The kids and Chris even came home with new Memphis t-shirts.. me, not to much! ha! ;) And of course, we STUFFED our faces with pronto pups and funnel cakes! YUM! (you know that's the real reason I go... haha! jk!) We had a great time! After snacking, we met up with Chris' parents, granparents, Aunt Debbie and out of town visitors.

Chris and I left the kids with his parents for the rest of the afternoon, so they could enjoy all the rides. We decided to go by Saddlecreek and do a little shopping. After that, we came home to enjoy the peace and quiet for just a few minutes. And this guy needed some extra attention...

I know he's a boy.. but goodness.. isn't he just pretty?! :)

He doens't realize that he's an 80+ lb dog.. he thinks he's tiny and that your lap is where is belongs!

After a quick "nap", it was off to dinner! With the craziness of our September schedule, Chris and I had to celebrate our Anniversary a little early this year. So we decided to keep it low key and go to dinner. Of course, we went to a definite fave.. Bonefish! You can never go wrong with their Bang Bang Shrimp and Mango Salsa Salmon (definitely get it with the steamed mixed veggies and potatoes au gratin!). Chris ordered their new Tokyo Style Ahi Tuna and LOVED it! He said it had just the right spice.

I got Chris a new watch from Outdoors! He really liked it! Best part is that he can switch up the bands.

Little did I know, but I had a HUGE surprise waiting for me....

this little blue box..

Yes... I squealed with delight!

I had desperatly been in need of some new pearl earrings and boy did he deliver! :) I am one happy girl!! Now, I have new beauties in my ears and my old ones are put away for LK! (she has pearl studs, but they're just the baby size - so she is super excited about Mommy's new gift! haha!)

I sure do love this man.. and is WAY too good to me! :)

Other than that, the weekend was pretty calm. Sunday afternoon we went to get the kiddos new mattress sets (and let me just tell you that that $500 price tag just about gave me a heart attack!!! REALLY??! SO expensive!), so now they're REALLY not babies anymore!

I hope everyone is having a great Monday! I promise that I'll get all caught up this week!

Show Us Your Life - Living Rooms

I am SO excited that Kelly is doing the "Show Us Where You Live" posts again! I never really participated last year, b/c my blog was newer and I just didn't catch on in time. So, I am definitely joining the fun this go around!! :) It works out perfectly too because I still haven't posted pics of the new house. So, now I can do it week by week! It's definitely NOT finished, but I can show you the progress thus far.

When looking at these... please keep in mind that we lost over 1000 sq feet of house in the move! That's East Memphis for you.. you pay for location, NOT size! ha! Oh well... I'd give up the extra space any day! :)

Living Room

no drapes yet... I have my eye on a yellow linen though! :) I also just recently bought some material for pillows, so hopefull I'll get around to making those soon.

more LR - that's the kid's "corner" in the back (we dont have a playroom anymore)

view from the front door

and, of course, these guys! ha!

Like I said.. ALOT to still be done! And I haven't cleaned in a while.. so yes, there's dust and dog hair EVERYWHERE! haha! None the less.. I hope you enjoyed!!:)

Head over to Kelly's blog and see everyone else's Living Rooms.. next week - MASTER BEDROOMS!!
