Redbirds Game!!

Saturday night we took the kiddos to a Memphis Redbirds game! It was opening weekend and we had a blast!!! We can't wait to go to even more games this summer. We didn't make it until the end of the game to see the fireworks, but I dont think they really minded all that much! ;)

I have to apologize.. these pictures are COMPLETELY out of order!!! I switched to the updated editor b/c I was having issues with the old one and I haven't really figured it out yet... so until then, you get out of order pics! ;)

Chris taught the kids "The Wave".. the loved it!

LK braved the ride! Her face was hilarious to watch!!

E was a little Pro at the batting cage!! Not to mention, he is definitely getting good at his switch hitting skills!! Daddy was SO proud! ;)

My little baseball player!! Just like his Uncle Ricky! ;)

The weather was absolutely PERFECT for an evening game! I swear, I could have fallen asleep on the bluff!

 HOT DOGS!!!

We had SO much fun!! A word to the wise though... DO NOT EVER let your kids play in the play area!!! Parents were letting their kids run wild and there were no park employees there to keep watch. Within 15 minutes, I saw two different kids break bones!!! YIKES! Needless to say, after that, we immediately made our kids come down and we went to a different area!

That, really, is about the only exciting thing we did this weekend. Chris had to work Saturday, so the kids and Huck played in the backyard while I cleaned the house up. Today, Chris did yard work and I went to Kroger, Target and Whole Foods for weekly groceries. The next few weekends are going to be VERY busy, so we tried to take it easy as much as possible.

I hope everyone had a great weekend! :)

My own version of Mr. Mom!

Sorry for no baby post this week! I'll try to do a double post next week. Although, nothing has really changed all that much! ha! I'm just huge.. that's all! ;) This week has been.. well.. crazy! I definitely felt as though I was living my own personal version of Mr. Mom (which is one of mine and LK's faves, btw!).

It started off Monday with tornadoes. I. HATE. TORNADOES!!! Seriously! They hit around noon and literally scared the mess out of me! The worst part.. both kids were in school. It's not easy knowing that something so scary is going on and you can't have you hands and eyes on both of your babies and KNOW that they are ok! Especially since East Memphis was hit really hard and that's where both kids go to school. My anixety only worsened as I was trying to get to both schools and traffic lights were out, there were trees on top of houses (in our neighboorhood!) and both kid's schools had HUGE trees that had fallen VERY close to them! Ethan's school had all the kids go down to the basement and LK did the typical "Elementary School Tornado Pose" in the hallway. I have to admit, that it was humorous to hear her decribe it to me! ;) I am so happy to say that our house was one of the lucky ones in the neighborhood and we escaped with no damage, but we were out of electricity for several hours. Luckily, the generator saved our food in the fridge!! (you know you're getting old when you're worried about the food in your fridge!! ha!) Crews have been out all week cutting down trees, removing branches and restoring power. Talk about scary!

Wednesday, both kiddos stayed home from school for coughs and runny noses. Allergies have officially set in at the Stickles House! So, that afternoon, I had to take both to the doctor (which took us almost TWO hours!!). They both have antibiotics for sinus infections and have been put on daily Zyrtec for allergies. Unfotunately, they both have inherited the Smith Family (my side!) sinus problem!! :( SOO... $200 later (after co-pays and medicines!).. we had missed the repairmen that we schedule to come and were completely exhausted from being at the doctor all day! Not to mention that while I was there, I was told that I would be getting a $115 bill for Ethan's dermabond!!! YIKES!! Apparently, it goes against our deductible so insurance won't pay for it! Oh Yes! $155 for a cut toe!! Is this what life with boys is going to be like????? How in the world will I be able to pay for food and medical bills for TWO of them!! Looks like Mommy may need to start working full time again! ha!

Thursday, we managed to get everyone to and from school .. no tornadoes.. no sickness (thank the Lord! They better be 120% better after the small fortune I spent!).. only to come home to all the repairmen that we had missed the day before. SO.. I am happy to report that our TV is working properly. (some kind of issue with the bulbs.. that was FREE! thank goodness!) but it looks like we need a new toilet for the kid's bathroom. I love East Memphis, but older homes are sometimes just plain a pain in the rear! After Chris got home and all the repairmen left, we called in a pizza order and all went to bed a little early! I think everyone in the house (including Huck!) was asleep by 9:30!

Wow!! SO glad that this week is over!! We have lots of fun stuff planned for this weekend and are really looking forward to it! :)

Fun-Filled Family Weekend!

We had an incredibly fun weekend around our house! It was absolutely gorgeous all weekend and we were thrilled to be able to enjoy it!

Friday night, we took the entire family to the Botanic Gardens for the Backyard Bash in My Big Backyard. (My Big Backyard is their play area for kids.. we LOVE it!) We had such a fun time. As the sun went down, it did get a little chilly, but that definitely didn't stop our fun. They had a fun band for the kids, arts & crafts tables, a smores area and the entire area was open for the kids to play. We were also able to take a picnic dinner. After being cooped up in the icky weather last week, they were itching to get out and run around.. and they did just that!

Mommy's face is definitely starting to look "pregnant"!!

SMORES!!!

LK and I munching on cookies and lemonade

SOOO attractive!!! At least I have an excuse!! ha!

LK making an ECO-plant

We had SO much fun!!!

On Saurday, we decided to go see the new movie, HOP! It was such a cute movie. We all really enjoyed it! It was made by the same people who made Despicable Me, so we knew that we would love it.

Other than that, we got alot done around the house, inside and out! I'm sure Lowe's will seeing alot more of us as the weather warms up! ;) Such a fun weekend with my favorite people in the world!

We LOVE our teachers!!

This morning was an EARLY one for us!! (getting up before 7:30 is ROUGH! oh the life of a mom! ha!) We had to make sure that we stopped and got some special goodies for Ethan's sweet teachers! This week was Teacher Appreciation Week at his school. All the parent's donated money for gift cards for all the teachers and then we were also able to bring special treats for them. Ethan picked out cupcakes (and THANK YOU, KROGER for having a "two-some" of cupcakes.. PERFECT!!!) and sunflowers.. so sweet!

He looked adorable carrying them into school. Yes, he could only manage the cupcakes!! I, on the other hand, had to manage his backpack, lunch box AND both sets of sunflowers!!

*sorry they're so blurry.. my phone is getting uber slow and taking awful pics! time to upgrade to an iPhone 4! i'll be sure to add that to the list of my "needs" these days! ha!*

Last night, he also decorated a heart for his door! He and LK loved getting the arts and crafts out. They were occupied for over an hour! It was fabulous! ;)

I took a few pics of that.. I'll have to post later! I didn't get my card out of my camera yet.

We are so excited for a super fun-filled weekend! Tonight we are heading to the Backyard Bash at the Botanic Gardens My Big Backyard...

It should be a great time! We also have a few other fun family activites planned. The weather is supposed to be pretty nice (I hope so! Last weekend and this week have been dreary and cold!) so we're hoping to get out and enjoy it!
