Beach {Part 2}

Still working on the beach posts. One more after this one and I’m done! :)

Uncle Ricky and Ms. Katie joined us on Saturday for a few days of fun in the sun. He was sure to bring all of his fishing equipment with him for Ethan!! Good Uncle! We were so happy to have them there with us. Luckily, we had a three bedroom condo, so there was plenty of room for everyone! Katie and Ricky were able to have their own room, the Caldwells had a room, and our family had a room. It was perfect! We typically would head out to the beach just after breakfast, come back in to eat lunch and let the smaller kids nap, then go back out in the late afternoon/evening. We tried to go out a few nights to look for crabs, but they were hard to come by! :( Maybe next year. Fortunately, the jelly fish were few and far between. I was thankful for that! And, Ethan and RP were able to catch A LOT of fish!! Since we know now how much Ethan enjoyed it, we’ll probably charter a boat next year. He’ll love that!

We had so much fun! This is definitely the beginning of a Stickles/Caldwell Family Annual Beach Vacation!

Beach {Part 1}

Going back to the last week of July, the Stickles Fam headed down to the Gulf Coast for a little fun in the sun! This was our very first family beach trip. Everyone was SO excited!!! We went for a long weekend (Thursday – Tuesday) and our good friends, The Caldwells, joined us on Friday. We were really looking forward to our vacation.

We left Memphis around 4am on Thursday morning with the hope that the kids would sleep about half the way. (especially Gray!) Well, of course, that didn’t happen! Everyone was extremely talkative at 4am! Anticipation, I guess. Gray ended up napping a few times, so that helped, but 6.5 hours is still a LONG time in the car!! But, we made it and it really wasn’t all that bad! We got there around lunch time and were able to spend the rest of the afternoon at the beach. The weather was amazing and we staying out till dinner time!

This was all of the kiddos first time at the beach so I was really excited to see their reactions to the water and sand. They LOVED it!!! Little water babies!

 

Ethan and LK immediately went right in, but it took Gray a few minutes to warm up to it.

Can’t believe I’m posting these, but had to post proof that I was actually on this vacation! I’m always taking pics and am never in them!

We had a wonderful first day at the beach!!! The kids had a great time and Mommy and Daddy were able to relax and play with the kiddos! I can’t wait to post more pics!
