Where has the summer gone??!

I have to apologize for being such a terrible blogger lately! I just dont know where the days seem to go! Life is just crazy right now! I still can't believe that in just a few weeks we'll be back to our typical school day routine. WOW! (I have to admit that I'm looking forward to it though.. we thrive off of a strict routine!)

Here's a little re-cap of life lately.. warning.. VERY random!! ha!

When Chris and Ethan saw the ad on TV for the Baskin Robbins baseball cap ice cream cups.. we just HAD to go! ha! And no doubt, he made me call every BR in our area to see which one had a Cubs cup! Luckily, one did.. so we went straight there! haha!

They were SO excited!! This was just after naps, so please excuse how rough E looks! ;)

E is just like his Mama.. he filled his cup up with strawberry! :)

This picture.. WOW! Ok.. so, for those of you that have seen Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakqual, I'm sure you know the scene where Simon gets a "swirly"... right?! Well, this is Ethan's favorite movie.. and THAT is his favorite part! So, what does he do the other night after watching the movie... he went into the downstairs half bath and gave himself a "swirly"!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS!!! He just thought this was hilarious! Fortunately, my grandmother was there to witness this mayhem! She was laughing hysterically! Of course, LK couldn't help herself and gave him a mowhawk!

SOOO funny!

We went to Gram's to go swimming and Mom gave LK a ride in her car.. she LOVED it! :)

The other night Huck and Ethan snuggled in bed with me... one of my favorite things to do! :) When I glanced over and saw this, I couldn't help but snap a pic. These two just love each other! It's so sweet.. a boy and his dog!

I mean... that is just LOVE!

Ethan has definitely enjoyed school this summer.. each day he goes is a different activity day.. like, "Ice Cream Sundae Day", "Luau Day", "Movie and Popcorn Day", "Pajama/Camp Out Day". The other day was "Cowboy Day".. so we dressed E up in his cowboy attire! I sewed some brown material on his jeans to look like chaps, and made him a little vest out of some left over cowboy print material! It turned out pretty cute!! I really wish he had some cowboy boots to wear.. :( .. maybe next year!

He ended up giving his bandana to his sweet friend, Miss Causey! (i think he has a little crush on her!) ;)

I even appliqued a little horseshoe on the back! :)

This is what bedtime has looked like lately!! I LOVE it! :)

LK has been LOVING ballet this summer!! After 18 years of my own ballet lessons, this just makes my heart go pitter patter! It just makes me giddy to watch her! :) The other day I snuck up to the door to get a peek of her.. she is just so attentive of her teacher and learning everything "just right"!

Last week, she had ballet camp. She went every day and they learned parts of the Sleeping Beauty Ballet. This was definitely right up her alley! Sleeping Beauty is one of her most favorite movies. Around the age of 2 she would watch over and over and over! On Friday, the parents go to go watch what they had learned. It was just precious! Her posture was just perfect and she's learned all of the positions and arm movements! I am enjoying watching her and even practicing with her!

The other morning, Chris and Ethan had to go over to Nana & Papa's to cut a tree down, so I treated LK to breakfast at Sonic! YUM! Huck was upset that the boys left without him, so he insisted on joining us!

Saturday night, the kids had their first sleepover with Aunt Brittany! They were SO excited! Chris and I were excited to get a night alone! :) We went to dinner, ran a few errands and then headed to the Germantown Sidewalk Sale. Chris was so sweet and indulged me with a few purchases! :)

When we stopped at Target, I FINALLY spotted these animal crackers! Lilly Pulitzer!! LK has several of her dresses and I just love all of her designs. I knew she would be so excited to get these.. so I bought out what they had! ha! Chris thought I was crazy.. lol. She is dying for the LP paper doll set!

I just had to post this!! It's been so hot in the afternoons that I let Ethan bring his skateboard inside. He can only ride in the kitchen and must wear a helmet.. it's hilarious to watch him!! He loves it though and is already pretty good!

Well.. I'll try to be a better blogger from now on! :) We have exciting changes coming soon.. so i'll be sure to post all about it!

Top 2 Tuesday - Purchases..

Today, Taylor is talking all about the things the want to buy! Well.. this list could quickly go from 2 to 200! ha! I'll try to restrain myself though.. ;)

{1} DSLR - Nikon d5000

and, of course, it must come complete with a cute little Shey B camera strap!!

{2} Pottery Barn Georgina Rug!

And.. just because we're talking about the things we want to buy.. I am in desperate need of a new pair of sunglasses. My Kate's have just about had it! I guess that's what 2 years of constantly being pulled on, sat on, drooled on, and almost pulled apart by two kids will do! ha!

I am loving these Tory Burch glasses!

and these new Kate's.. Aspen!

Soo... head on over to Taylor's blog to see what everyone else is dying to purchase! :)

Show Us Your Life - Calling All The Single Ladies!!!

This week on Kelly's Korner, we are sharing a few of our favorite guys.. our top picks, who are still single! I have to admit.. as I'm starting to type this, all I'm hearing in my head is the Chipette's version of "All the Single Ladies"! I'm laughing.. alot! ;)

Who's my favorite single guy???... my brother.. my best friend.. the guy who used to let me dress him up like a Barbie doll when we were 3(ha! - picturing that now is just hilarious!!)... Ricky Hunt!

Yes, ladies... I promise you.. he is THE BEST guy out there! (well... besides my incredible husband, of course!) And... he's still available! ;)

Now.. he's probably going to kill me for posting this! And, I have to admit.. I hesitated at first! But then I thought.. why not??! I know he's looking for someone! THE RIGHT ONE! And surely someone out there is looking for him!

He is one heck of a great guy! He is the most kind, honest, straightforward person I've ever known! He's a free-spirit and uber:adventurous!

Let me introduce:

Ricky Hunt
Age: 26
Height: around 5'10
Eyes: brown
Hair: auburn
Job: works for financial company in downtown Memphis/has Series 7!
Hobbies: working out (he's a personal trainer!), HUNTING, FISHING, baseball (he played in college!)
Personality: loyal, fun-loving, determined, has a heart for the Lord!

He graduated from UT Martin with a degree in Agricultural Business and there he played out his own minature version of Animal House on a daily basis! (hahaha!!!) He is an ATO!

He has a great sense of humor! As evident in the pic below.. yes, that's him in the wig and spandex! Sexy.. I know! ;)

He literally is the most amazing Uncle and Brother in the world! My children adore him to no end! He spoils them and loves them so much. It's always such a special moment to watch him interact with them. I can see in his eyes how he longs for the "family life" of his own!

LK and Uncle Ricky - I went into labor with LK 5 weeks early. He was in Jackson, TN at school.. when he got the call he raced home and got a speeding ticket on the way, just as he was entering Memphis! THATS how much he loves his neice!

Me (1 hr post birth.. GROSS!!), Ethan and Uncle Ricky!

I just can not praise him enough.. i feel like there just aren't enough words to properly descibe him! He's just one of my favorite people on this entire planet! Every night I pray for my sweet brother.. that he finds his "one"! He deserves it!

Well, ladies.. I hope you enjoyed meeting Mr. Hunt! If you're ever in the Memphis area.. let him know! ;)

Summer Days drifting away...

Where has the summer gone??! In just a month from now the kids will be back in school everday!!! CRAZY!! I dont know where all the days have gone! We are definitely having a blast though! :)

On Tuesday, Chris' mom was off of work, so she took LK and Chris' sister to the Pink Palace Imax to see the Dolphins and Whales movie. She LOVED it!! What a fun day! :)

Ethan also had a fun day! It was Ice Cream Sundae Day at his school, so he got to enjoy some yummy ice cream at snack! They also made the CUTEST art project!! They made sundaes out of cotton balls, sprinkles, a red pom pom for the cherry and "whipped cream". Did you know that you can make "paint" out of 1/2 shaving cream and 1/2 glue??! It gets puffy and then dries hard. PERFECT for make-believe whipped cream! E was so proud of his art! :)

On Thursday we decided to meet my brother in downtown Memphis for lunch! We went to a family favorite, Hueys! They kids were so well behaved... esp considering that it was right in the middle of the lunch rush! (Thank goodness!) We always love getting to hang out with Uncle Ricky! And considering that we typically see him in his bass fishing attire, the kids were a little thrown off by the suit and tie! ;) (he was quite handsome though, ladies... and SINGLE!!! - hint, hint!!) ;)

After lunch, we headed straight for the zoo! We spent several hours there and even got to see the Sea Lion show! (Memphis Mamas - if you have an iPhone, you can download the Memphis Zoo app and it will give you a daily schedule of all the shows, keeper chats and feedings!! LOVE it!) After a few hours, I figured we were about to leave, so I let the kids go wild in the new Teton Trek geyser! They were SOAKED but loved every minute of it!

When we started to head into the Primate Pavillion, I noticed several people around the gorilla window... THIS is why....

Why, Hello There, Mr. Gorilla!!

See what I mean about the geyser??! How fun!!

Friday, Chris' mom took the kids swimming at Aunt Debbie's house! So... that meant that I had a completely free day!! I ran a few errands and did a little shopping.. ALONE! Unbelievable! I went by the WS Outlet and picked up this mix...
Surprisingly... it was pretty good!! It was no San Francisco Crab Cake.. but it was pretty tasty! ;) Even Chris liked it!

We paired them up with some grilled salmon (I also picked up some potchlack seafood rub - it was YUMMY!), wild rice, green beans and salad with feta! DELISH!

Saturday, we decided to go to the Buffalo Party at Shelby Farms! So, I had to make the kiddos a few shirts! ;)

The "party" is to support their Adopt-A-Buffalo program and to also annouce the name of the new baby buffalo! (which is Stax!) It was SO much fun!!! They had free Buffalo Wild Wings for everyone, lots of games and you got to visit the buffalo up close and personal!

I tried my best to keep Ethan from making a complete mess of himself! ha!

LK was having a fit b/c she needed a napkin! (she gets that from me.. i can not eat w/o a napkin!) haha!

She then got mad that I took her picture while she was eating!

Chris and E playing!

BUFFALO!!!

Chris thought it would be funny to throw a frisbe at me... as it was coming close I went to move out of the way and this is the pic my phone got.. HILARIOUS! look how close that thing was!!!
LK spotted a pond full of lily pads and insisted on having one!

And see what daddy did....

Can we say SPOILED???!

we left Shelby Farms, we met Chris' parents at Swanky's for lunch!!

All in all... we are definitely enjoying summer!!! Today we went swimming at Grams! I'll post more on the weekend soon! :)

I hope everyone had a great weekend!
