BBQ & Beale

This past weekend, my best friend, Jennifer, came to visit me! You might remember Jen b/c I went to her engagement party in Atlanta in June?! Well, she managed to get some free plane tickets and decided to come see me this time! She even brought along her sweet fiance! He had never been to Memphis, so he requested two things... BBQ and Beale Street! Of course, Chris and I were happy to oblige! They got into town Friday afternoon and we met them at the Rendezvous for dinner. Gosh.. do I LOVE the Rendevous! Memphis is definitely known for it's bbq and the Rendezvous is at the top of the list! We even took our little E Man with us (LK was a little under the weather.. and NOT happy about missing bbq!) He LOVED it!

You just gotta love that BBQ sauce covered face! :)

Ethan was so excited to see Autozone Park all lit up at night!

We all got up early Saturday morning and luckily LK was feeling a little better! B/C it was off to Graceland for us!! Chris and Jennifer had asked to go to Graceland and Lilly Kate was SO happy they did. She's been dying to go! We didn't tell her until Saturday morning, so I think she was still a little in shock when she got there. I've never seen her so excited about something. Surprisingly, there was no one there! (thank goodness!) We only had to wait about 10 min to catch the shuttle over to the house. Usually, the wait is HOURS long!

(she said that this room reminded her of the movie "The Game Plan".. haha!)

Her FAVORITE room - The Jungle Room! As she was going up the carpeted stairs (walls, ceiling, floors) to the Jungle room, she loudly exclaimed - b/c we all had earphones on - "I've never seen carpet on the ceiling before.. ONLY Elvis!" hahaha!
The Pink Cadillac - she had waited ALL day to see it!
After the Graceland tour we headed to Corky's for even more BBQ! This time we traded the ribs for some good ole yummy pulled pork sandwiches! LK was on Cloud 9! Elvis and BBQ all in one day! I think it was just too much for her to handle.. she refused to nap! ha!

That evening, we met up with Jenn and Chris again downtown and watched the Georgia game and then grabbed a few drinks at Flying Saucer. Then, it was off to Beale Street! We saw several friends and it was great to catch up with everyone and have a wonderful time. I think J&C are now piano bar fans.. big time! :)

Jen met the Diver!

We had such a great time with Jennifer and Chris! (We hope ya'll had fun too!) We are definitely looking forward to seeing them again in June for their WEDDING!!! :)

Can you believe it?! ....

YES! The soccer season is DONE.FINISHED.LAST GAME PLAYED.COMPLETE!

I honestly was beginning to think we would never be able to finish it. The rain just never wanted to stop! But, we held out and this past Saturday was our last game of the season!! And, of course, we ended it with a WIN! I think that made our record almost perfect.. only 2 loses, I believe! :) I am SO proud of my sweet LK. It was evident from the beginning that soccer just wasn't her "thing". But, she held out for the entire season and was such a little trouper! I doubt we will EVER see her on any type of field again, unless it's in a cheerleading uniform.. ha! I have to admit though, towards the end she really started to show a little fierceness out on the field and seemed to finally know what it was that she was supposed to do! She had such a blast playing and we had even more fun watching her! It was rough though.. being at the soccer field one night during the week and every Saturday morning. I have no idea what I will do when Ethan is into sports, b/c I'm sure it will be multiple sports all at once! AH! Luckily, I still have another year before he's old enough.

After the game, we all headed to a nearby park for the end of the year party! Her coach was so sweet and got pizzas and treat bags for all the kiddos. And, of course, their trophys! :) It ended up being absolutely gorgeous all weekend, so the kids had such a fun time running around at the park!

After we left the park, it was definitely nap time!! Later that night, Chris and I went and ate dinner sans kids (thank you, Noni and Papa!) and then enjoyed a little shopping at Saddle Creek! All my faves were having sales.. Banana, J.Crew and I even got a pair of super cute khakis at Gap! It was so relaxing to spend some time with my hubby. I even got a little something special for Baby Emerson, who will be here soon.. gotta love Janie and Jack! (Haley, I know it's a "necessity" shower but I just couldn't resist.. ha!) We hardly ever get the chance to just sit and chat without kids screaming in our ears. ha!

Sunday morning was another great church service at Living Hope! We are definitely enjoying every Sunday we spend there!! And isn't it a small world that one of Chris' cousins will be preaching there over Thanksgiving. We are so looking forward to that! As we were walking out of church, the kid's were of course saying that they were hungry. So, LK got to pick and wouldn't you know she picked Corky's! I tell you.. that girl is a true Memphian. She loves good BBQ and good Elvis tunes! And she ate every bit of that BBQ sandwich too! (although, i really think she likes to go b/c there are Elvis pictures everywhere!) Lunch was yummy!

Well, that's about all we did this weekend. I am super thrilled about this coming up weekend. My friend, Jennifer, is coming to see me and bringing her fiance along too! Chris has never been to Memphis, so it looks like more BBQ and more Elvis is in our future! Can't wait to see you My Jen B! :)

Hope everyone has a great week!

Pumpkins & Tooth Fairies

Oh, I was such a bad blogger this past week!!! I am SOO sorry! I promise I will catch up on all my Proverbs tomorrow! :) My life has been taken over by Sweet Lemons this week, although I am definitely not complaining! :)

This weekend has been a rollercoaster of excitment! (good AND bad!) We started the weekend Friday night by going to Zoo Boo! Zoo Boo is an event held at the Memphis Zoo every October. The entire zoo is decked out for Halloween and you can even trick-or-treat! The kids had a blast!!! As you can see below, we are the Toy Story gang this year! (surprise, surprise!.. ha!)

*yes... as soon as he got the costume on, he was leaping off of every piece of furniture in the house, yelling "To Infinity.. And Beyond!"*

We went to Zoo Boo with our good friends, The Caldwell's... Addyson is Cindy Lou Who this year! She was absolutelly adorable!! :)

Bo Peep has found her sheep!!

The Caldwell's

We had such an amazing time at Zoo Boo with our dear friends!!! We will definitely be going again next year!

Saturday morning started off with yet another soccer game! (3 left.. we're counting down!) Of course, our little David Beckham's played their hearts out and we came home with a WIN! After the game we went out to Collierville to do a little shopping. Unfortunately this year I have had to buy the kiddos a complete new winter wardrobe! Shoes, jeans, pants.. EVERYTHING! Trust me.. it has NOT been fun for my bank account! :( But.. I did manage to find the adorable little Stride Rite sneakers for E. He says that they make him run faster! ha! I like them because they were only $20 at Dillards! (BTW - if anyone needs little boys jeans size 18-24mo.. I have about 5 pair you can have!)

We worked up quite the appetitel while shopping, so we stopped at Chili's for some lunch. Then headed to the grocery for food shopping! After all the lunch and shopping was finished, we went by Noni and Papa's so Papa could take a look at LK's loose tooth! It's been loose for about week now, so we thought it was about time to let Papa pull it. Well... he tried.. and he tried.. and she cried.. and she cried... so we went home with a tooth still in! But, typical Lilly Kate just could not stand it! As soon as she got home she decided that she was just going to pull it herself! (oh my.. this child!) So...
She pulled...

And she tugged...

And.. finally.... out popped her FIRST tooth!!

She was completely in shock that she actually did it!!!

She was SO excited to have lost her first tooth!! She put it under her pillow and woke up with $2 from the tooth fairy! (even though she requested $12! hahaha!) I can not believe that my little girl has lost a tooth!

Now.. for the bad...

We woke up this morning and started getting ready for church and out of no where both kids started throwing up! OH.MY.GOODNESS! I can handle stinky diapers all day long... throw up.. NO WAY! On top of the throwing up, Ethan was having HORRID pull ups! So, needless to say, we did not make it to church! (oh... my husband has picked up this bug too!)

The good news is that we were able to make it out of the house for about an hour to go get a pumpkin to carve. We headed out to the patch and got some great finds! We can not wait to carve them this week! :)

So.. our weekend ended with everyone cuddled up in Mommy and Daddy's bed! Not even chicken and rice could make this fam perk up! :( Hopefully this is just a 24hr bug and will be gone in the morning! And let's hope even more that MOMMY does not join the sick list!

This week is going to be jammed packed with so much stuff, but we are all definitely looking forward to it! We have Aunt Brittany's birthday, Daddy's birthday, Halloween, Race for the Cure and Stickles Family Fun Fest on Halloween night!! :) Can't wait!
