10 things you just dying to know...

1. Fill in the blank. Sometimes I wish my life was more ______.
Interesting. Don’t get me wrong. Life with two kids IS interesting. But it’s rarely out of the norm! It gets pretty mundane, even with all the running around and stressing over this or that. It’s just ordinary. Something out of the ordinary would be nice every now and then. I’m definitely one of those people though that once I spend the extra bit of money on myself or do something for Chris and I that doesn’t involve the kids… I immediately feel guilty! It’s awful! (TOTALLY different from my pre-kids selfish self! Ha!) At the same time I wish life was a little more low key some days! Sometimes the hectic day to day has me wanting to pull my hair out! So.. it’s a blessing and a curse really! I guess that’s what life it all about! :)

2. How do you cure the hiccups?
I hold my breath and count to 30. I have no idea why!

3. What are three of your favorite indulgences? {oh, get ready for this one!} ha!

- Cheesecake. Let me just go ahead and let it out… since Chris’ mom baked an incredibly delish cheesecake for LK’s birthday… I have been dying for it! And I have eaten it.. TONS of it! Like, entire cheesecakes ALL.BY.MYSELF! It’s embarrassing! Really, it is. So, if in exactly a month I’m complaining to ya’ll that I’ve suddenly gained 10lbs and can no longer fit into my jeans. You know why and I do expect a big “I TOLD YOU SO”! Thanks!

- Kate Spade. BIG. HUGE. ADDICTION. Lately, I’ve tried to control myself. But every time I see a new purse, wallet, cosmetic case.. anything, I am secretly in my mind figuring out ways to purchase it and get it home without Chris finding out. That’s probably not good, right?! Hmmm…

- Online Shopping. What an incredible stress reliever! I tell you, there is nothing like the stress relief you get after you put the kiddos to bed, grab a coke and a snack and turn on the laptop! LOVE IT!!

- I’ll go ahead and add a 4th – my iPhone! I’m so in love with this little bit of technology, it’s just not even funny! :)

4. Where is the most exotic place you would like to travel to? The most mundane?

Exotic- I would have to go with the South of France, along the coast. Like, Monaco or Cannes area.. yeah, that seems pretty great right now! Tahiti would be nice too!

Mundane – really, mundane? Why would I want to go if it’s mundane? I’ll take mundane, in this instance, to mean “slow paced”. If that’s the case, then… Maine. I’d like to go to Maine/Cape Cod, too, rent a cottage, fish for and cook my own lobster and do some fabulous Vineyard shopping!

5. Does having your time planned out stress you or relax you?
Both. When it comes to things for the kids and their schools, a planned out day is always better! At the same time, thinking about the things I have to accomplish that day in just the few hours I’m given, completely stresses me out. It’s that whole “blessing and curse thing” again! Ha! But, not having a plan all together is WAY stressful. So, I try to have some guideline for the day!

6. What are your favorite fabrics to wear?
Linen.. love linen! And, of course, that one pair of jeans that you’ve had for ages and they feel about as soft as baby cotton now! Yeah, those.. that’s my favorite fabric!

7. Do you sleep through the night?
I wish! I have two kids, two dogs and a husband who sometimes snores… what do you think?! I can’t even remember the last time that I got a full 8 hours. I’ve learned to function on 5-6!

8. When you were younger, what did you think you would be doing at this age? How close is that to what you are doing?
When I was a little girl I wanted to be several things. First a veterinarian. Then, a teacher. Then, when I went to Ole Miss, I contemplated law school. (HAHAHA! REALLY?!) But, I think everyone who goes to Ole Miss dreams of being a lawyer.. or at least marrying one! ;) After that notion wore out, I thought about nursing. Again, very quickly changed that one! Now.. I am a mom! So, if you think about it.. I’m a little bit of all of these things put into one! If you would have asked me at 16 if I would be a stay at home mom, I would have most definitely told you “NO WAY!” There would be no way, first of all, that I would have any children and I most definitely would not be staying home with them! Oh… how life changes when you least expect it! Ha! :)

9. What has surprised you most about growing up?
Life moves SO quickly! Really, it does! The number 6 doesn’t seem like that much, really. I mean, it’s a tiny bit more than 5, but way less than 10. It’s still right there along the middle. But when I think about the past 6 years, it seems like a lifetime! I didn’t expect that. You really have to cherish the moments! There’re gone before you know it! I’ve also learned that “just because I don’t feel like it today” is not a valid excuse for a grown-up! Ha! Well, I really don’t feel like writing those tuition checks and house payment check every month, but I still have too! I don’t get a day off! EVER! As a child/teen, you think grown-up life is so easy and you can do whatever you want.. WRONG! It’s way hard!

10. Are you good at keeping secrets?
I am now! Let’s just say… lessons learned! Ha!

Super fun blogger Darci did this! (thanks for sharing!) So, go read her answers too!! :)
